Keeping It real: What does it profit,
my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?....If
a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of
you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do
not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it
profit? (James 2:14-16).
We are our brother's keeper!
What good does it do to have a pantry full of food yet you walk past a
hungry person? What good does it do to have a new car, and
yet, not offer someone a ride to church or the grocery store? What good
does it do to have a beautiful home, yet you never invite anyone over
for lunch or dinner?
We talk about the Blessings of
God but are we truly using the Blessings to Bless others, "remembering
the words the LORD Jesus Himself said: It is more blessed to give than
receive" (Acts 20:35).
Every good and perfect gift is
from above, coming down from the Father of the Heavenly lights, who does
not change like shifting shadows (James 1:17).
In James we are told that faith
is not enough, although we do know without faith it is impossible to
please God (Hebrews 11:6) we are all designed to work. Every body has a
part in the "Body of Christ". We are independent yet dependent on each
other to continue the work that God has so designed our hands to
accomplish on this side of glory.
Please let my hands and my feet
work in harmony with one another. Let me eyes see what is before me
each and every day. These things I can only accomplish in the Peace and
Glory of the All Mighty God. Ya Dig?...
