Keeping It real: Woe to those who call
evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for
darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20).
Versus 20 of this
chapter starts of with Woe - this is a warning to all of God's people,
and non-believers a like. There are consequences for your actions,
which we will all have to give an account (1 Peter 4:5). Just think
about this for a moment, 20 years ago, things that are acceptable today
would have never been thought of or acceptable in minds of society 20
years ago. But today, we don't even give it a second thought, all is
acceptable as long as ??
The Word of God tells me that
we are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13), we are His disciples - "if
you abide in My word, you are My disciplines indeed. And you shall know
the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 21-32).
We have all been set free, free
to live our lives as we chose, through free will. God does not demand
that we chose to do right, but we are warned of the consequences of such
actions if we follow down the path of unrighteousness. There is
nothing, absolutely nothing that takes God by surprise - it
will always be easiest to follow the path of others because it is
acceptable, but God also warns us of this, "For it is easier for a camel
to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the
kingdom of God.” (Luke 18:25).
Because
God loves you so much, He has given you this free will of choosing. As
Christians, we struggle from time to time but the important point
is to not continue on the same path of destruction. We have the Victory
through Christ Jesus - claim it! Amen...Ya Dig?..
