Lesson Of The Day: Me And My Drug Problem...

Keeping It Real: I had a drug problem when I was young.

I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather and whether I wanted to go or not.

I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to weddings and funerals.

I was drug by my hair when I was disrespectful to adults and got my tail beat.

I was also drug to the bed and ordered to lay across, when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn’t put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.

I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profanity and put on punishment to boot.

I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, wash some clothes, clean their house, cook some food and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the house and whipped my butt.

Those drugs are still in my veins and they affect my behavior, in everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, heroin, meth, alcohol or weed; and, if today’s children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.

God Bless the parents who drugged us! Ya Dig?...

Lesson Of The Day: Boycott Florida...

Keeping It Real: Families should be worried about taking a vacation in the state of Florida.

Florida needs to change the "Stand Your Ground Law" to prevent more cases like the Trayvon Martin verdict. If you should take your family to Florida for vacation, you should feel safe that you can travel around the state safely without being confronted by someone with a gun simply because they say they feel threaten by you.

Start by signing your name to the petition:  http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/families-should-be-worried.fb28?source=s.fb&r_by=6071617

Why risk vacationing in a state which permits its citizens to stalk, shoot and/or kill you for merely LOOKING suspicious?

SUPERSTAR ARTISTS need to PULL ALL shows from Florida immediately. Stevie Wonder has said, he will no longer do ANY thing in Florida until they have abolished this law!!!

Lesson Of The Day: Zimmerman's Acquittal

Keeping It Real: My heart goes out to Trayvon Martin's family & loved ones. Prayers being sent their way. God Bless...

Prayers going out for Zimmerman, irony is he has to wear a hoodie or cover up, probably for the rest of his life! Peace be with him!

God Bless the folks who chanted and marched after the verdict PEACEFULLY, hopefully it will remain as such! God Bless...

I'm thinking, is it possible that Zimmerman was telling the truth? No one but he, Trayvon & God knows the truth!

Yeah, he followed Trayvon, yeah, he was told to NOT follow and did, yeah Trayvon was unarmed, but could it be possible that Trayvon being taller in size, maybe saw some fear in Zimmerman and jumped him as he stated?

Could it be possible that during their struggle, Zimmerman feared for his life and shot him?

Could it any of that be possible or have we all overlook the probable just because, 1. He wasn't Black, 2. He was TOLD NOT TO FOLLOW, 3. Trayvon was unarmed BUT could it possible that the scenario Zimmerman gave, BE TRUE?

Food for thought, y'all!!!

I sit here and read some of the Facebook and Twitter stats, some comments made on other sites and it AMAZES me how out of touch with our society, some of you are!! I mean really!

In ALL your years here IN AMERICA, you are just now realizing that racism still exists and please believe it didn't just come about because Zimmerman was set free! What?, y'all thought when they let OJ go, racism was over? I guess we can say, we KNOW how they felt after releasing a person knowing they killed the other for NO GOOD REASON!!! but then again, if you think about it, OJ was a *white* man trapped in a BLACK body!! for real, for real!!! and a jury of his peers, which was almost all Black acquitted him! Some say, there was a difference, that they THOUGHT he killed them but all evidence including his televised ride with a gun to his head SAID YES, he did!! and that Zimmerman ADMITTED to killing him but a jury of his peers acquitted him just like OJ!

In some instances, we are still the last hired and first fired! Watched like a hawk when we walked into a store, lock their doors if we pull along side them, not giving preference regardless of how your credit is and the list can go on and on!

It took a NON BLACK person to kill a Black person and be acquitted to make SOME OF YOU SIT UP AND TAKE NOTICE to what has been going on in this COUNTRY, we call HOME, for over 300 years??? Seriously?

Somebody said, Blacks can't be RACIST because we have NO POWER!! REALLY??? Ha!!!!hahahahaha, that is funny! Really, it is!!!

In the words of Kevin Hart's father, Y'ALL GON' LEARN TODAY!!! Ya Dig?...

Lesson Of The Day: When I Say I Am A Christian....

Keeping It Real: When I say that I am a Christian, I am not shouting that I am clean living. I'm whispering I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say I am a Christian, I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say I am a Christian, I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say I am a Christian, I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say I am a Christian, I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say I am a Christian, I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say I am a Christian, I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner who received God's grace.

Yea, I stumble, fall, get back up and might stumble again but that is between me and MY GOD!!! Ya Dig?...

Lesson Of The Day: Trials You Bear And Fruit You Share...

Keeping It Real: Many of us have no idea how far a person will go in order to survive!! Being on a rollercoaster growing up, with blessings poured on me when I least expected it, taught me some valuable LIFE lessons.

Looking back, I can see why my mother never gave up and how I'm obligated to do no less. My mom and dad believed if you get out of God's way long enough, you will get just what you need, for God sees way down the road. They taught me to live a happy and FEARLESS life, which is what happens when you lean on the Lord.

I've learned that prayer changes things and that no matter how desperate your circumstances may seem, a victory is on the way. Most of all, I know that the past is only the past and people can be restored. When I look back now, it is only to assess where I came from and to give thanks!!

When you find that you have the means and ability to help a person out, when you see a homeless person, a family struggling or just lending your time and hand to someone, you'll find it really does change you as person, once you do something like that. Because you're not just having your own fruit, you're able to share it with those who are less fortunate than you!!

Let's change that old cliche' of slow to give a hand, but quick to point a finger!! Try it, you might find that you like it!!

Have you helped someone lately?????? Ya Dig?...

Lesson Of The Day: He Got You...

Lesson Of The Day: God Hears Your Prayers (1 John 5:13-14)

Keeping It Real: These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.  Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us (1 John 5:13-14).

God hears your prayers! I don't know what you may be praying for, but God hears you.  The Word of God tells me that, for the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers" (1 Peter 3:12).  So there is nothing that you are praying for that God is not aware of.  He is an ALL knowing God.  I was thinking about life and how during this journey we go through many changes - so God placed this thought in my heart.  Life is like a onion - I know you have heard this term.  But think about it.  During our life's journey God has been peeling away layers and layers of "stuff".  Things that have keep us from reaching our destiny and our purpose.  Some of those things we have accepted or allowed to prevent us from reaching that point, most of which has groomed us to be just who God purposed us to be.  You see, I was an abused woman, I have been through some things, like most of us.  But despite all of that, I know God has given me confidence in who I am and in Whose I am.  I Praise Him for allowing me to be who I am in HIM.  God has groomed me to have compassion and patience where others might not.

So what has God groomed you to do? What are you praying for?  The Word of God tells me His ears are attentive to my needs, according to His will.

So I ask - when you pray, are you simply waiting for change or are you moving toward your change.   No better day than today to declare your change!  Ya Dig?...

Lesson Of The Day: Words Of Encouragement...

Keeping It Real: When you have the peace of God directing and protecting your path, you have the Victory.  You may not see it, you may feel all hope is gone, but please rest assure that God is more than able to do exceedingly more than you can ever image.   Think about this - can you imagine if you were one of the 3 Hebrew boys.  Wow what a testimony.  What do you think you would have done in that same situation?  Would you have been faithful enough, strong enough to stand up and walk into that furnace?
Lord help me understand and allow me to have that type of faith.  That is faith than can withstand the test of time, that is faith that surpasses all understanding. In times of trouble, praise God.  In times of plenty, praise God.  When we praise God - He is pleased, because the World of God tells me He inhabits the praises of His people.  Start praising Him in all situations, all circumstances, and watch the atmosphere change.  Praising Him in advance!

Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - mediate on these things, Pray on it and then Claim it in Jesus' Name! Ya Dig?...
