Lesson Of The Day: Things To Remember

Keeping It Real:

Success is an attitude.
Whatever your mind can believe and conceive, you can achieve.
Dream great dreams and work to make them come true.
You are unique and special.
Never affirm self-limitations.
To accomplish great things, you must believe, dream, plan and then act.
Yes you can! ( it is not just Obama's slogan)
Believing is magic.
You can always better your previous test!
You don't know what you can do, until you try!
There is no failure except in not trying.
Defeat may test you, it need not stop you.
If at first you don't succeed, try another approach.
For every obstacle, there is a solution.
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Make it happen. Ya Dig?...

Lesson Of The Day: A Prayer Delayed Is Not A Prayer Denied...

I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.  But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about your weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me (2 Corinthians 12:7-9)).

Rest - In the Power and the Strength of God.  There is absolutely no other place to get complete peace, complete rest!  When we deal with circumstances and trails that seemly never go away - did it ever enter your mind that maybe, just maybe God was trying to get your attention. We pray for relief for our circumstances, but do we also pray for peace during this time.  In all things, God has given us the strength we need to endure all things.  Yes, it gets rough sometimes, but there is absolutely nothing that God can not do - if He wills it so.

But just think about this for a moment, humility is a hard lesson to learn. Often times God blesses us with great gifts, and talents.  Paul was gifted with a great vision for God's people and revelations.  With such insight temptation was always present.  Therefore, I am sure Satan was just sitting and waiting for the right moment to swoop down and turn the goodness of God into evil.

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to  save many people alive (Genesis 50:20).

Paul was dealing with this thorn and he wanted it removed as we all do when dealing with discomfort.  But as Paul learned and we should know, God's grace is sufficient in all things.  God's time is not our time, and His ways are not our ways.  Remember, a prayer delayed is not a prayer denied.  Amen..Ya Dig?..

Lesson Of The Day: Ladies, A Man Telling It Like It Is, Take Heed...

Keeping It Real: This commentary is coming from a MAN...If it steps on your toes, TAKE HEED!!!.

Bottom line--if I sleep with a woman I don't know or care about, SEX is NOT going to make me care. (I stopped doing that years ago) That kind of sex is like scratching an itch. Once a man scratches, he's through. He ain't sitting around thinking about that spot that itched or how good it felt scratching it. He's moving on with his life until that spot itches again and it don't matter which hand he scratches it with, just as long as he gets rid of the itch.

Too many women PRETEND they can handle a sexual fling, but wind up getting caught up and wanting us to romance and wine and dine them and pretend we're having a "relationship" when it's NOTHING but a booty call. Come on, ladies, y'all know I'm telling the truth.

Unfortunately, ladies, you are part of our problem. You sleep with us BEFORE you know us or what we're about. Having sex with a man does not automatically make that a "relationship". Many women will deny they think like this but I'm speaking from personal experience.

Also, ladies know when their men are fooling around and still turn a blind eye by getting mad at the other woman. Now, what kind of sense does that make? Why should that woman make YOU (a total stranger) a priority in her life? IF HE DID NOT MARRY YOU HE IS STILL SINGLE. The "other woman" is not breaking up a "happy home".

Many women marry men who were cheating BEFORE they walked down the aisle and then are SHOCKED that a fancy wedding dress or an expensive walk down the aisle didn't change who he was. Why should he change? YOU let him know it was acceptable by sticking around that long.

Ladies, start living with your eyes OPEN and not your legs. Most shady men give themselves away one way or another, usually before the first 30 days. Women have to stop "rewarding" unfaithful men by pretending it ain't happening. All Men do not cheat. I do not cheat on my lady so don't buy the hype. I know SOME MEN who don't cheat but at the same time there are many other men who WILL if there are NO real penalties for it.

Stop jumping into bed with men YOU DON'T KNOW. That means fewer opportunities for men to cheat. Women have to STOP being so afraid to ask the important questions that would reveal his TRUE lifestyle. Worry LESS about what kind of job he has and what kind of car he drives and encourage him to talk about his past, particularly his past with women. OPEN those ears and listen.

Does he put down his ex-women and blame them for everything? And don't be so vain. You are NOT a better woman than his last girlfriend. If he dogged her out, you will probably be NEXT.

Observe him when you are with him. Do you have his home number? Work number? Have you seen where he lives? Where he works? Is he secretive? Did you ask if he's married or engaged? How does he treat other people? Listen to what he says, NOT what you want to hear. Stop INTERPRETING the meaning of what he says to fit your purposes.

If he says, "I'm not looking for nothing right now" -- DON'T tell yourself, "Aw, he just scared of getting hurt. I can change his mind.." NO YOU CAN'T. He said exactly what the hell he meant. Men don't have to lie when so many women are already DEAF.

If you can't answer BASIC questions about a man DON'T OPEN YOUR LEGS. I could kinda understand back in the days when sex wouldn't KILL people, but now? there's no excuse and if a woman takes that huge risk of sleeping with a STRANGER then she better protect herself -- sexually AND emotionally.

Show our ASS to the door if we pressure you for sex too soon. Don't be afraid to be alone. After you give our ASS some, you will probably be alone anyway but now you feel like a fool. In other words, take your time and check us out. if we REALLY like you, we'll stick around. BUT if you decided to sleep with a man you hardly know, PROTECT yourself and keep your expectations to ZERO. We do not owe you a relationship or another date just because you had sex with us. That's not how it works, baby.

I have TOO many female friends who give me horror stories that could have been avoided if they'd done their homework first OR moved SLOWER before giving up the panties. I try as a Black Male to give them the best advice I can but that won't mean a doggone thing if Women in General continue to live in a dream world. You are TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE for your own sexual behavior the same as I am. Blaming the man won't change a damn thing. Women have to look in the mirror and take SOME of the blame for what's wrong with relationships.

Let me end by saying....
SEX DOES NOT = A RELATIONSHIP
GIVING A MAN A READY-MADE FAMILY WILL NOT MAKE HIM COMMIT IF HE DOESN'T WANT TO. A MAN WILL NOT RESPECT A WOMAN WHO DOES NOT RESPECT HERSELF OR HER BODY. IF YOU TRADE SEX FOR MATERIAL THINGS YOU ARE PROSTITUTING YOURSELF. IF HE DOESN'T TAKE CARE OF HIS OTHER CHILDREN WHY WOULD YOU HAVE A BABY WITH HIM? IF YOU REWARD A DOG WHY SHOULD MEN STOP BEING DOGS? BRING MORE TO THE TABLE THAN YOUR BODY. NO WOMAN'S PUSSY IS MADE OF GOLD. IT IS ONLY AS GOOD AS I THINK IT IS. BELIEVE THAT. Ya Dig?...

Lesson Of The Day: Grow, Restore & Renew With Jesus...

When you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.  You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds, and to put on new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness ( Ephesians 4:20-24).

Wow - what a scripture.  God gave it all to us! A chance to have life and have it more abundantly but we continue to live as though we have never been taught right from wrong.  Maybe I am just talking to myself.  But Paul said it better than I, For I do not do good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do - this I keep on doing...For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me (Romans 7:18-23).

So lets look at this for a moment, God has place in us His spirit - yet we continuing to live life as it was before, we knew Christ.  We all have habits, some good and some, well not so good.  We have to do some serious spring cleaning of our minds!  We have to throw out the old man and allow the Spirit of God that dwells within each and everyone of us to grow and renew our thinking.  Just like we say, Satan get the behind, we need to speak life over our old ways and start moving forward into our destiny and purpose God has for YOU.

God loves you so much, that He has designed a purpose specifically for you.  "His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).

God inhabits the praises of His people, I am not the same - you are not the same.  God has renew, restored, and revive in me, HIM. Amen...Ya Dig?..

Lesson Of The Day: How Cool Are Cucumbers?.....

Keeping It Real: WHO KNEW CUCUMBERS COULD DO ALL THIS!!!

Spice up your glass of water with a slice or two of cucumber. It's wonderfully refreshing, but there are amazing benefits to cucumber as well. Cucumbers are cooler than you think ...

1. Fat busting: Do you ever wonder why women put cucumbers on their eyes to relieve puffiness? The photochemical in cucumbers makes the collagen in your skin tighten, thus the lack of puffiness. Did you know that you can rub a cucumber on a problematic spot of cellulite anywhere on your body to lessen the visibility of it? Did you also know that it has the same effect on wrinkles? Wow, it makes purchasing those fifty dollar creams seem a little silly, doesn’t it? You can also rub a little bit under your kiddo’s eyes after a long bout of crying to avoid that puffy ‘I cried for an hour straight’ look.

2. Defogger: Do you get annoyed when you get out of the shower and you have to fight the fog on the mirror? Who has time for that when the kids will be awake at any moment? Try rubbing a slice of cucumber on the mirror before you hop in and not only will you get a fog-free mirror, but you’ll have a nice smell that will boost your mood.

3. Headaches: If you suffer from headaches from chasing your babies all day (or pets or your husband), or had a little too much wine with dinner and want to avoid a hangover, eat half of a cucumber before bed. Cucumbers are high in B vitamins, sugar, and electrolytes, and they replenish the nutrients missing in your body to help you avoid a hang over or to beat that headache that’s been threatening to take over.

4. WD-40 replacement: Did you know you can get rid of a squeak by rubbing a cucumber on the hinge? Wow, now you don’t have to tear your garage apart looking for that little can with the red straw, and the baby won’t wake up when you slowly open the nursery door to check on him.

5. Crayon on the walls: Take an unpeeled cucumber and rub the crayon off of the walls in the event that your kiddo left you some art. You can also use this technique to erase a pen mistake.

6. Halitosis killer: Take a slice of cucumber and put it on the roof of your mouth. Hold it there with your tongue for 30 seconds. The photochemical that you love for cellulite and puff reduction will also kill the bacteria that is causing your bad breath.

7. Tarnish remover: If you’re finding tarnish on your stainless steel kitchen faucets and appliances? Rub it off with a cucumber slice. Not only will it remove years of tarnish, it will leave it streak free and your hands will thank you, and your kids won’t be put at risk from a dangerous chemical.

8. Energy booster: If you’re feeling tired in the afternoon, don’t give Starbucks your five bucks. Instead, grab a cucumber. There are just enough carbohydrates and B vitamins to give you a longer-lasting and healthier boost of energy than soda, coffee, or those health hazard energy drinks.

9. Munchy madness: Did you know that European trappers ate cucumbers for energy and to keep from starving to death? If those big burly manly men can eat a cucumber to keep from starving, you can eat one as a healthy choice when the munchies hit. Slice some up and take them in a small plastic container to the movies if your theater doesn’t offer healthy alternatives to munching on butter soaked popcorn.

10. Frugal facial: Slice up a cucumber and boil it in a pot of water. The chemicals inside of the cucumber will mix with the steam. Remove the pot from heat and lean over it, letting the steam hit you. Your skin will be more radiant and healthy, and you will feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

11. Shoe polish: Cut a slice off of your cucumber and rub it on your shoe. It will not only shine it up, but it will repel water.

12. Pest control: Put three or four slices of cucumber in a small pie tin and place them in your garden. The chemicals in the cucumber have a reaction that pests hate. You won’t smell it, but it will drive them from your garden all year long. Replace them periodically.

13. Sunburn: Sometimes sun block doesn’t always protect your little ones from sunburn. If you have burnt little kiddos you don’t have any aloe, rub some cucumber on them. Many doctors even use cucumber to treat patients with irritated skin and sunburns.

14. Blood pressure: Cucumber has been long used to treat high blood pressure. If you have it, add cucumbers to your daily diet. There is also ongoing research into the use of cucumbers for lowering cholesterol.

15. Constipation remedy: The seeds of a cucumber are a diuretic. If you’re constipated, try eating a cucumber. If you suffer from chronic constipation, add cucumber to your daily diet! Ya Dig?..

Lesson Of The Day: Evelyn Lozada Reconciliation With Chad?

Keeping It Real: Is it me or is Evelyn Lozada prepping us for her reconciliation with Chad?

Don't get me wrong, it is her prerogative to change her mind about wanting to get back with her ex hubby because you can't just turn off your feelings! I'm not saying what Chad did was right but sometimes God does things to humble a person. Chad needed humbling because he was out of control and so was Evelyn on BBW!

I know & know of several women, LOTS, me included who have changed their minds after some b/s has went on in a relationship!, saying, I wasn't going back to him and I did, said I was going to leave and I didn't!!

Thing is her life is publicly aired for the world to see, judge her and say things, especially WE WOMEN, knowing all the time we have done similar shit, IF NOT THE SAME!!!

I say Evelyn, do you, you are the only who has to deal with it and you know just how much you can take and how much to allow BUT if the bad starts outweighing the GOOD, it's time to make some permanent choices! Good Luck!! Ya Dig?...

Lesson Of The Day: God & Consequences....

Keeping It real: Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20).

Versus 20 of this chapter starts of with Woe - this is a warning to all of God's people, and non-believers a like.  There are consequences for your actions, which we will all have to give an account (1 Peter 4:5).  Just think about this for a moment, 20 years ago, things that are acceptable today would have never been thought of or acceptable in minds of society 20 years ago. But today, we don't even give it a second thought, all is acceptable as long as ??

The Word of God tells me that we are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13), we are His disciples - "if you abide in My word, you are My disciplines indeed.  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 21-32).

We have all been set free, free to live our lives as we chose, through free will.  God does not demand that we chose to do right, but we are warned of the consequences of such actions if we follow down the path of unrighteousness.  There is nothing, absolutely nothing that takes God by surprise - it will always be easiest to follow the path of others because it is acceptable, but God also warns us of this, "For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” (Luke 18:25).

Because God loves you so much, He has given you this free will of choosing.  As Christians, we struggle from time to time but the important point is to not continue on the same path of destruction.  We have the Victory through Christ Jesus - claim it! Amen...Ya Dig?..

Lesson Of The Day: Forgive But Can You Forget?....

Keeping It Real: Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll NO!!!!!

Come on now, sometimes it is easy as hell to forgive a person especially if what they have done is not really an issue but if your mate has cheated on you, come on, when he/she is not where they are supposed to be or 1 minute late, what is the 1st thing you think of?, mmm hmmm that mofo is cheating again!!, right? How about a friend who has done you dirty wrong, you might be able to forgive them but if they do anything similar to what they did previously, you mind goes right back to what they done to you before!, right? How about a person who borrowed your money and said, I will give back on a specific date and pay you 3 months after the date, they come again, what is the 1st thing you say or think, uh-uh, they didn't pay own time the last time!, right?

It's hard to forget when a person has done you wrong, yeah, we all say, forgive and forget, but do we really? Ya Dig?..

Lesson Of The Day: Shouting Praises & All Glory To God (per my cousin)

Keeping It Real: Hello Family, it's been a while. So I just decided to stop by and say I love you all. Where I work I greet approx. 400 people per day. My favorite word when they ask how I am doing is, Fantastic. One asked, how can you be doing Fantastic every day? I stated, it all started when He/God woke me up!! Then I took a shower, turned on the T.V. and put James Cleveland in the CD player, picked out my clothes, made breakfast, got a glass of water, a glass of juice, turned off the air conditioner, watered the plants, turned off the lights and locked the door behind me, you see,  I received all of these blessings and then some before I, even leave the home He provides for me and then drove and made it safely to work; I am not going to put a period at the end of this because He/God is not done Blessing me for the rest of the day, so, I am Fantastic in the morning, but at the end of the day, --I am Grateful, Truly Grateful that I have Christ in my Life!!
