Lesson Of The Day: Remembrance Of The Newtown Children ....

Keeping It Real: Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"this is heaven." declared a small boy. "we're spending Christmas at
God's house."when what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
and as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"
"may this country be delivered from the hands of fools"
"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"
then He and the children stood up without a sound.
"come now my children, let me show you around."
excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
and I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
"in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT." Ya Dig?...

Lesson Of The Day: Boomerang Effect...

Keeping It Real: This is a note of some serious observation. Some folks just don't get it, that all that negative energy they put out toward others is just like a boomerang. You throw mess out and it comes right back at cha'! The drama seeds you're planting everyday, will give you a huge garden to harvest.
I just double dare some of y'all to start something new today! Speak life! Give love! Be positive! Put out in the universe what you want! The power of the tongue and the words you speak could change your life and others! It's a law! Just like what goes up must come down, what you spit out always hits ya right back in the face! Lesson Of The Day: The "IT" Factor...

Keeping It Real: Some Women are born with IT. IT courses through their veins as freely and as strongly as the blood that keeps them alive. IT is undeniably present in everything that they do and everything that they are. IT can not be mistaken for anything other than what IT is.

...And if you have to ask what IT is...then you definitely do not have IT...Ya Dig?..

Lesson Of The Day: Let Us Pray...

Keeping It Real:

God, this world is so hostile!! And often times violence and pain falls on too many good and innocent people. As parents, we see things like this and these threats are sometimes immobilizing. We cannot insure the safety of our own children. Our reach is too short and we can never even anticipate all the risks they might face. Our fears for our children – and for ourselves seeing
our children in danger or pain – can overwhelm us.

God, when we come to the end of our ability to control things we turn to You. We ask for Your protection over our children, over their choices, over the friends they make, over the encounters they have with other adults. God, stand guard. We do not always understand how Your protection works, still we ask for Your presence in the lives of our children.

‘The Lord is my refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.’ This is the promise we claim for our children. Be ever present with them, and keep them from danger and sickness and violence and foolishness. Send angels to be beside them today and every day. When we can’t trust ourselves, we trust You, Father.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come to You now with broken hearts over this terrible tragedy at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. We grieve along with those who are directly involved, whose loved ones have been hurt or killed.

We lift up this entire community and ask You to bring peace and comfort to all involved. We ask You to bring a spirit of forgiveness to this community. Please bring their hearts together as one and help them through this terrible time.

Lord we love You, and know Your hand is on those who are uncertain, and terrified. Please bring them peace. In Jesus' name.... Amen! Ya Dig?..

Lesson Of he Day: Black Women And The Police...

Keeping It Real: I find that a lot of *Black* women think, it is against the LAW to call the police on a man if he has beaten the crap out of you! WHY? I'll never understand it!

If a man hits my mother, sister, daughter, female cousin, Aunt, Grandma, niece or any female relative, I feel like they SHOULD BREAK THEIR FINGER POINTING!!!!

If he doesn't care enough about you to beat you damn near an inch of your life, do
it in front of friends (his and yours), in front of your children, then why should you care if the police is involved and he takes his ass to jail?

I'm just saying, if man hits me, enough so that I think he has hurt me and I am afraid, I am calling the police on his ass! OK!!!

Lesson Of The Day: Open Letter From A Mother To Her Daughter...

Keeping It Real: My dear girl, the day you see, me getting old, I ask you to please be patient, but most of all, try to understand what I’m going through.

When we talk, if I repeat the same thing a thousand times, don’t interrupt to say: “You've said the same thing a minute ago”... Just listen, please. Try to remember the times when you were little and I would read the same story night after night until you would fall asleep.

When I don’t want to take a bath, don’t be mad and don’t embarrass me. Remember when I had to run after you making excuses and trying to get you to take a shower when you were just a girl?

When you see how ignorant I am when it comes to new technology, give me the time to learn and don’t look at me that way... remember, honey, I patiently taught you how to do many things like eating appropriately, getting dressed, combing your hair and dealing with life’s issues every day.

The day you see I am getting old, I ask you to please be patient, but most of all, try to understand what I’m going through.  If I occasionally lose track of what we’re talking about, give me the time to remember and if I can’t, don’t be nervous, impatient or arrogant. Just know in your heart that the most important thing for me is to be with you.

And when my old, tired legs don’t let me move as quickly as before, give me your hand the same way I offered mine to you when you first walked. When those days come, don’t feel sad... just be with me and understand me while I get to the end of my life with love.

I’ll cherish and thank you for the gift of time and joy we shared. With a big smile and the huge love I’ve always had for you, I just want to say, I love you... my darling daughter. Your Mom! Ya Dig?...
