Lesson of The Day: Blacks And Reality Shows/Stations (VH1, Bravo, Oxygen, MTV, etc.)

Keeping It Real: I find it very amusing that some Black people think the stations like Oxygen, Bravo, VH1, MTV, TVone, WEtv just to name a few put Blacks people in a horrible way when they are aired on their stations and reality shows!

1. They have to cast for these shows, the stations do not walk around with camera crews just filming folks without their permission!

2. They also have to sign a CONTRACT to be seen on a reality show!

3. How can a reality show and station put Black people in a bad light if they never cast for it or sign a contract?

For the record, these stations have other races reality shows as well, so are they putting Black people in a bad way or any race that is foolish enough to sign up and have a camera crew follow you around and film your EVERYTHING?? 

It's entertainment and if they want to entertain folks with their life and lifestyle, so be it, right? Ya Dig???

 

Lesson Of The Day: OWN Station/Oprah Winfrey

Keeping It Real: I watched the Oprah Show for years when she 1st started coming on ABC! I was in her studio audience on a couple of occasions. One for pregnant women, I was pregnant with my 2nd child and the other, I didn't find out title until I was seated in the audience and it was about troubled relationships and boy was my marriage in trouble at the time! Anyways, her shows became quite stuffy to me after awhile, I don't know if it was because I felt she was catering to the Black women in the beginning but to draw in the masses, she had to change! I quit watching!

Long story short, OWN TV network, which is owned by Oprah has been having rating problems! Mind you, I hadn't watched Oprah in years but I happened to see one of her Life Tour, Next Chapter commercials and I became quite intrigued! I flipped to her channel and Welcome to Sweeties was on! This show is actually really good and based out of St. Louis! I have a sister who lives in STL suburbs and I can't wait to see her and I MUST go to Sweetie Pies! They have a new show coming on with Iyanla and if you know anything about her, she is a MOTIVATOR!!!

I started watching the OWN network and am quite pleased with the shows that air on this station! All I'm saying is that yea, her ratings NEED BOOSTING which I am quite surprised being she is Oprah and BLACK!! Where is the LOVE from her own PEOPLE!! If this was Bravo, VH1, MTV or Oxygen, we would be all over it! UNREAL

Thing is, I say, if you need to learn, maybe her network can teach you! If you are sad, maybe her network can bring some joy & happiness when you least expect it! If you need help in overcoming obstacles, maybe her network can help you conquer them! If you are in the dark about things, maybe her network can help to enlighten you! If you are puzzled, maybe her network can help you find the missing piece! Sometimes that pot of gold you are looking for can be found right on your TV station! Ya Dig?..  

Lesson Of The Day: Watch What Happens TV Show W/ Kandi & Tyrese

Keeping It Real: Was it me?, or did everyone see Tyrese slide his hand alongside Kandi's thigh and hip when he was asked by Andy, if he had his paddle to play, the Bweave It game? I know, I know, what he and maybe others might say, he was looking for his paddle, BUT what made him believe the paddle was on the side of HER chair and NOT HIS? OK? He didn't even check his seat 1st, he went straight to her thighs!  Mmmmm, Hmmm paddle for thought, right? LOL

Also, why did he NOT want it known he is in a relationship? Tyrese, you are not the 1st and will not be the last celebrity, who is in relationship, have a girl, woman and or wife! Thing is, if your fans TRULY LOVE YOU, then they love you with or without a companion! We all KNOW Tyrese has to have a life and you are a GROWN, SEXY man, why wouldn't you be involved? If they cannot understand that, then that's on them! 

No offense to you Tyrese, but Kandi, I think is too much woman for you! You couldn't handle her and I don't mean, sexually! Ya Dig?
